With a new year on the horizon, almost a 1,000 Facebook fans, and just an over abundance of growth on this somewhat “dream come true” journey of being a professional photographer and artist I felt inspired to do a photo session that was whimsical, playful, and without a doubt unique and one of a kind. I wanted to play tribute to my first love and the start of my business which was making tutus, photographing little girls, and pretty much making the fluffiest, girliest things ever. To think that in 5 years my business has grown from 10 sessions a year to 100 plus sessions is pretty amazing. It’s fair to say I know what style I love and I am excited to start doing more crazy outlandish sessions with my clients. I am excited to own a brick and mortar studio in the next 5 years, offer a boutique line of clothing and accessories, and long term a cafe for clients to frequent when they aren’t in the studio.
If you would have told me during my college photography class that I would be a successful photographer I would have undoubtedly said, “when pigs fly” my camera was so terrible I basically passed because of charm, creativity, and living in the dark room. I can say now that hard work and originality go a long way.
I had connected with a Facebook friend with a domestic piglet and asked about doing a photo-shoot in my home studio. With an hour to plan, as it was spur of the moment, I found inspiration from the idea of piggy. From pigging out on popcorn, painting our piggies, pink sponge rollers, and fuss free pink fluffy shirt dresses this session was easy and fun. Even without a real life pig on set, I think this session style could be used again, for a family of all little girls. Overall these little ladies had a blast, the pig loved the organic popcorn, and I learned that piglets are easier to photograph then my newborns.
To celebrate a little more I am offering a crazy, “When Pigs Fly” package for one lucky winner announced January 1st 2015. This package will include a year worth of photos!!!! Perfect for babies, families, or young couples alike. You could win 3 free full sessions that can be used throughout the 2015 calendar year valued at $1,000.
